My company is using WordPress internally as Knowledge base system.

What I like is that SearchWP has an easy setup and offers immediate improvement. I also like that Jonathan is honest about the limitations of the product. Over 20K posts/pages and he recommends you look elsewhere for reasonable performance.
Just works
We got SearchWP to allow searching through a large amount of PDF’s. We had some minor issues with a few old ones but essentially it just worked. Also, when we needed it, support has been quick and efficient.
