Version 2.0.3 introduces a couple of new useful filters. The most impactful update here is a change to the search algorithm and how each search term is processed. The update makes it easier for extensions to do a better job of modifying the final search query instead of manipulating the search terms themselves. This results in performance and scaling improvements in extensions such as LIKE Terms and Fuzzy Matches.

Along with this update comes an update to a number of extensions as well. Please keep in mind that extensions do not auto-update, you will need to download the latest version from your Account manually

Updated extensions include: Term Archive Priority 0.6, Term Highlight 2.8, LIKE Terms 2.0, Term Synonyms 1.0, Fuzzy Matches 1.1, and Shortcodes. NOTE that a few of these extension updates require SearchWP 2.0.3 or greater, so be sure to update SearchWP before updating your extensions.

2.0.3 changelog:

  • [New] New Filter: searchwp_get_custom_fields allowing developers to pre-fetch (and set) post metadata just before indexing takes place (props Stefan Hans Schonert)
  • [New] New Filter: searchwp_term_in allowing you to modify each term (per term) used in the main search algorithm
  • [Improvement] Better handling of filtered terms, allowing extensions more control over the actual search query
  • [Improvement] searchwp_indexer_loopback_args is now applied to every HTTP call SearchWP makes
